Disclosure of Affiliate Programs

Disclosure Compliance Rules of the Federal Trade Commission

The Federal Trade Commission issued new disclosure compliance guidelines in 2015.

These guidelines are in place to guarantee that readers and viewers of digital media are aware if a blogger or publisher is sponsored, supported, or affiliated with a third party.

Readers want to know if the content publisher profits from sharing a link or product.

Please assume the following about links and content on this site, following FTC guidelines:

Any/all of the links on Boating Buds are affiliate links, which means I get a little commission if you buy something through them.

Purchases are made on the websites of external affiliate companies: when a reader clicks on an affiliate link on boating buds to buy anything, the reader buys it directly from the seller.

Amazon and/or other firms compensate boating buddies with a modest commission or another form of payment for bringing customers to their website.

Whether readers purchase through an affiliate link or a non-affiliate link, the prices are the same.

The pricing or anything else for the visitor does not change when they click an affiliate link versus a non-affiliate link.

Affiliate programs are used by Boating Buds in two ways

Boating Buds is a member of the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, which is an affiliate advertising program that allows website owners to make money by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.

If you purchase a product after clicking on an affiliate link, I will receive a percentage of the transaction or some other form of revenue.

Prices are the same whether you use affiliate links or not. By following the link, you will not be charged any further fees. These aren’t “pay per click” links.

What about content that is sponsored?

Sponsored postings are not something I do. I want to give you accurate, non-biased information. If a firm want to publish sponsored content on Boating Buds, I will clearly state this at the start of the post.

In the end, I only recommend goods that I myself use or would refer to family and friends.
